Community Spotlight

We build sustainable communities by giving our time, energy and financial support to the United Way of the Bluegrass, LexArts, Daniel Boone Chapter of the American Red Cross, KET Public Television, and many others. Messer also builds our Lexington community by including local minority- and woman-owned businesses on all our projects.  In 2010, more than 4% or more than $1 million dollars of Lexington’s total spend of $27 million were spent with certified M/WBE’s.

Messer believes in supporting the community where we work, live and raise our families.  By striving to be an excellent community partner, Messer has contributed more than $300,000 and numerous volunteer hours to the Lexington community since 2006.  Messer professionals dedicate their leadership talents and serve as key roles on community service boards and committees.

In 2010, The Messer Foundation awarded a $25,000 grant to Repairers Lexington.  The Foundation grant will provide materials, equipment and labor to the $441,000 renovation at the center, an unstable structure in dire need of a major renovation.
