Community leaders and officials from Shriners Hospitals for Children and the University of Kentucky gathered on March 9 to break ground on the future site of the $47M Shriners Hospitals for Children Medical Center. 

The 110,000 square foot, state-of-the-art outpatient care center will be located across the street from UK HealthCare's Kentucky Children's Hospital, and is expected to open in 2017. Messer Construction Co. is serving as the construction manager.
