Despite the fact this 237,000 sf addition was almost an exact replica of the first 237,000 sf structure Messer completed for Aisin in 2004, the project team still faced many challenges. For example, the first building was occupied throughout construction. Messer installed a divider wall to separate the existing area from the area under construction, so Aisin’s work in the facility could continue without interruption.
 

 

Design/Build

Design/build is a project delivery method in which one entity (the design/builder) enters into a single contract with the owner to provide architectural/engineering design and construction services.  The owner defines the project requirements and scope, selects the team and then their involvement is minimized. The success of the project is contingent upon the ability to select a team that will meet all of the owner’s needs.
