Messer Wins Top Award from Kentuckiana Minority Business Council for Fourth Consecutive Year

(January 12, 2009)  Louisville, Ky. – Messer Construction Co., a Louisville-based construction manager and general contractor, has been named the “Corporation of the Year” by the Kentuckiana Minority Business Council (KMBC) for the fourth consecutive year in recognition of the company’s continuing efforts to help create opportunity for all segments of the community.

The Corporation of the Year Award is KMBC’s top corporate award, recognizing firms for exemplary achievements in minority business development. Awarded firms meet high standards and are committed to both identifying and utilizing minority firms in the community.

Additionally, Messer was recognized, among approximately 20 businesses, for spending more than $1 million with minority businesses in 2008.

KMBC is one of 39 regional councils across America and is affiliated with the National Minority Supplier Development Council Network. There are 3,500 corporate members throughout the network, including America’s top publicly-owned, privately-owned and foreign-owned companies as well as universities, hospitals and other buying institutions. KMBC has 125 members, all of whom can qualify for the Corporation of the Year Award.
