Messer/Miles-McClellan Wins Build Ohio Award

(November 29, 2007)  Columbus, OH – Messer/Miles-McClellan, LLC of Columbus, OH has been selected as one of the winners of a prestigious Build Ohio Award. One of six award winners, Messer/Miles-McClellan was honored in the ‘New Construction Over $10 million’ category for the Surgical and Heart Center at Grant, which was completed in November 2006 for Grant Medical Center.

Messer Construction Co. and Miles-McClellan Construction Co. teamed for this $59 million, 169,000sf project. To begin the project Messer/Miles-McClellan coordinated with Grant Medical Center’s team to plan and execute the first implosion in Columbus, Ohio’s history.

The Surgical and Heart Center at Grant is the new state-of-the-art medical facility at Grant Medical Center that features 18 operating rooms, a highly-specialized heart services floor, 28 pre/post procedure rooms, lobby and cafeteria space in addition to 20 post anesthesia recovery stations, sterile processing department, two MRIs, bulk oxygen storage and ambulance bay.

The Associated General Contractors of Ohio hosts Build Ohio annually to celebrate the commercial construction industry and recognize contractors for excellence in construction. A panel of retired construction professionals selected the Build Ohio winners based on the following criteria: excellence in client service, meeting the challenge of a difficult job, excellence in project management, and innovations in construction techniques and materials.

Messer/Miles-McClellan received its bronze and green marble Build Ohio award during the 16th annual Build Ohio Celebration on November 9, 2007 in Columbus, OH at the Hilton Columbus.
