Muth Named to Kentucky Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board

(May 05, 2009)  Cincinnati, Ohio – Alison Muth, vice president of environmental, safety and health for Messer Construction Co., was recently appointed to the Kentucky Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board by Kentucky governor Steve Beshear.

Muth will serve as the industry representative on the board for a two-year term which expires in 2011. The Kentucky Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Standards Board is a 13-member body chaired by the Secretary of the Labor Cabinet. The board members are appointed by the Governor to equally represent labor, the safety and health profession, management, and agriculture. The board is empowered to adopt, amend, or revoke OSH standards.

Muth joined Messer in 1997 and recently led the planning and implementation of Safety4Site, the company’s national award winning safety commitment. She has extensive experience in interpretation and administration of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements with an emphasis on environmental and occupational safety and health policies, and procedures for both private and public sectors. She is affiliated with the Environmental Section of the American Society of Safety Engineers, the Associated General Contractors of America, Allied Construction Industries, and the Greater Cincinnati Safety Council.
