Messer Again Ranked as One of Nation's Top Health Care Builders

(March 16, 2009)  Cincinnati, Ohio – Messer Construction Co. has again been ranked as one of the country’s top health care builders by Modern Healthcare magazine. The publication features an annual list of the largest construction management companies in the health care industry, and the 2009 edition features Messer at number 19 — the sixth consecutive year that Messer has been included in the top 20.

“We are proud to be recognized once again in this national forum,” said Tom Keckeis, president of Messer. “Our ranking reflects our depth of experience, the results of our performance, and the high quality of the owners with whom we work.”

Messer has been providing health care construction services for more than 70 years, having built hospitals, surgical centers, medical research facilities and medical office buildings. Health care is a key market focus and to continue to advance operational excellence, Messer utilizes solutions such as Lean Construction, Building Information Modeling (BIM) and the Building Systems Group.

The company recently hired Pamela Zipperer-Davis as Health Care Director to help provide a C-level perspective for understanding the customer’s challenges and mindset. Zipperer-Davis has more than 20 years of industry experience and served in executive roles with several medical companies including CEO for two managed care organizations.

According to Modern Healthcare, the Top Construction Management Companies list provides insight on construction and design firms that do business within the healthcare industry. Companies that participate are required to be based in the U.S. and have 100,000 square feet or more of health care projects in the past year in at least one phase of construction-completed, broke ground/in progress or designed. Companies include projects where they are the architect, construction manager, general contractor, design/build firm or developer of record.
