Chris began his career with Messer in 1992 while studying for his B.S. in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Cincinnati. He received his degree in 1996. Chris is certified by the US Green Building Council as a LEED AP®, displaying knowledge and leadership in energy and environmental design. A graduate of Leadership Columbus, he used his skills to lead several projects to award-winning status. Some include the1996 Build Ohio Award for the Aronoff Center for the Arts, Cincinnati, Ohio; and the Build America Award in 2005 for the Ohio Judicial Center Project, Columbus, Ohio. In addition to performing arts facilities and courthouses, Chris’ diverse project experience includes educational and industrial facilities, parking garages and office buildings. After serving the Ohio regions, he relocated to the Charlotte region where he serves as Operations Vice President.
He is active in the Charlotte community encouraging diversity on every Messer project. His efforts were awarded in 2016 with the Diversity Advocate of the Year for Charlotte Minority Enterprise Development Week. Chris’ other community support includes serving as a board member and operations committee chair for the Hospitality House of Charlotte and as an aviation committee member for the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce. He also devotes time to the trade organization Associated General Contractors (AGC) of the Carolinas where he is a member on the Education and Workforce Development Committee.
