Steve began his career with Messer after graduating from the University of Cincinnati (UC) in 1982. He earned a B.S. in construction management and received an A.S. in civil engineering from UC the previous year. In 1995, Steve was honored with UC’s Distinguished Alumnus Award. Over the last 35 years, he led many diverse projects which include: aviation, correctional, medical, recreational, educational facilities, casinos, office and government buildings, and parking garages. His leadership success resulted in his relocation in 2011 to Charlotte, North Carolina, to develop Messer’s newest region.
Steve is an active board member of Renaissance West Community Initiative (RWCI) and chairs the Building and Grounds Committee where he oversees the new Child Development Center facility. Steve is an active member of the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce Workforce and Education Committee and Board of Advisors member. Along with volunteering at Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina, he has chaired the Charlotte American Heart Association Heart Walk Community Team for two years and was a sponsor/mentor and active participant of the Charlotte Minority Economic Development Initiative (CMEDI).
