General Contractor (GC)
Also referred to as Design/Bid/Build (DBB) and Lump Sum (LS).
Messer has been doing construction using the general contractor (GC) delivery method since 1932. Our in-house cost planning and estimating department has up-to-the-minute marketplace pricing, allowing us to competitively bid projects.
Design Build (DB)
During the past five years, nearly 20% of our annual revenue has been from design-build projects. Our extensive design-build experience includes work for health care, higher education, public, military, and commercial clients. Our breadth and depth of design-build experience will ensure you have the benefit of best practices from across the industry.
This delivery has a single point of responsbility which can simplify project administration for the owner. It promotes a team approach and provides an environment where the design can be shaped to meet the owner's budget and can facilitate a faster project schedule.
Construction Management Agency (CMa)
Messer has done more than $300 million worth of construction with CMa in the last five years. This delivery use a team approach. The construction manager provides creative input, as well as stronger planning and construction expertise during the design phase. This allows the CMa to provide reliable cost estimates earlier in the process and can reduce the change order rate during the project.
Construction Manager-at-Risk (CMr)
Messer is the builder of choice when it comes to CMr work, especially for public institutions. Our construction management approach enables us to become an extension of your institution, partnering with your staff and A/E firm before design begins and relieving your staff of project management burdens.
Integrated Project Delivery (IPD)
An IPD approach reduces waste when compared to traditional delivery models. Integrated Project Delivery is a collaborative approach that creates less owner risk, helps reduce change orders and can reduce design and construction costs. Messer prides itself on being an expert IPD builder.
