Fayette County Historic Courthouse Renovation

Lexington, KY

By renovating this courthouse that has remained vacant for several years, it will become a focal point of downtown Lexington. Situated in an urban area, extensive planning and coordinating were required to ensure a safe and successful completion. The use of Last Planner enabled us to remain on track during this aggressive schedule.

Description

  • Kentucky Heritage Council preservation award (presented to the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government)

  • ENR Midwest Best Projects Government/Public Building Award of Merit (2018)

  • Renovation of existing courthouse in downtown Lexington

  • All historic features, including original limestone exterior, kept intact

  • Includes restoration of rotunda that has been closed since 1960

  • Changing the basement expansion design details saved the owner time and money.

  • Worked with the proper agencies to meet the requirements for Historic Preservation Tax Credits
