The City of Columbus wanted to transform the downtown Scioto Riverfront, by the Columbus Bicentennial Celebration in 2012, from an aging, underutilized civic asset into a high quality, active green corridor for the benefit of the citizens of central Ohio and their guests, while fostering further investments in the revitalization of their downtown.

Description

  • Promenade – 12 colonnades, landscape beds, canal fountains, brick and granite pavers, swings, benches and chess tables
  • John W. Galbreath Bicentennial Park event bandshell, restroom building, state-of-the- art fountains with 5+ miles of associated piping, and signature restaurant
  • Scenic overlook called “The Prow” – received the Builder’s Exchange award for quality craftsmanship
  • Engineering News Record Midwest Best Project • Ohio Parks and Recreation Association “Award of Excellence”
