Lexington Shriners Medical Center
In 1926, Lexington Shriners Medical Center opened to treat children with polio. Today, the Medical Center specializes in treating pediatric orthopedic conditions. All of the surgery done at Shriners is now outpatient, allowing patients to return home the same day. In addition to Shriners, University of Kentucky (UK) Hospital Ophthalmology services will also be housed in the new facility.
