University of Louisville Pediatric Medical Office Building
University of Louisville had a desire to consolidate multiple doctors offices and departments into a single location. They wanted to create an iconic building for premiere pediatric care. Messer was chosen due to our strength, experience, and success with past projects in medical facilities as well as our experience with University of Louisville.
It includes a pediatric ambulatory care center with specialties in general pediatrics, audiology, ENT, cardiology, psychology, physical therapy, radiology, telemedicine, phlebotomy, infusion, and sports medicine.
Eight-story, 174,000 sf building
Tight site in the middle of a busy, urban medical campus
Chilled beam HVAC system, pneumatic tube, medical gas, terra cotta cladding, and a green roof
BIM coordination was critical due to limited ceiling space
Complex building geometry and building envelope system
Hydroponic piping was changed from copper to polypropylene providing equal performance at a lower cost
