Description

This four-story building houses computer science, digital media and information technology (CMIT) programs. The scope included sitework and utilities, new concrete substructure and steel superstructure, exterior and interior finishes, and complete building systems.

Features

  • The building’s foundations were being constructed on shale, which has a tendency to expand or swell when it comes into contact with water. To prevent this, our team excavated the shale and replaced it with lean fill material.
  • The project site was in the middle of Berea’s campus. Our logistics, safety and communication plans were focused on the safety of students, staff and visitors, minimizing disruptions.
  • The project team utilized Messer's innovative services and talent including 5S, Flow Scheduling, Quality Leadership System, and our Craftforce to self-perform work.
