Description

Construction included the demolition and removal of the existing garage and pedestrian walkway with the addition of a new parking garage, 64,000 sf airport administration building, and a large pedestrian plaza that consists of landscaping, water features, outdoor seating and public art.

Features

  • Maintaining pedestrian access from the terminal to the CONRAC required covered pedestrian tunnels with signage and wayfinding. In order to get the garage up-and-running as soon as possible, our team developed a plan to open the garage to the public prior to the completion of the administration building.
  • The project received a 2022 AGC Build Tennessee Award of Excellence in the New Commercial category. This achievement also led Messer to be named General Contractor o​f the Year​ by AGC of Middle Tennessee.
  • 2022 Parksmart Silver Certification for sustainable design, construction and operation; "the world’s only rating system designed to advance sustainable mobility through smarter parking structure design and operation."
  • The administration building is designed to meet LEED Silver certification.
