Announcing our 2026 Messer Foundation Grant Recipients

Four organizations are receiving $30,000 each to put toward capital improvement needs that support their economic inclusion, education, workfroce development and/or environmental stewardship efforts. These grants are awarded from the annual Messer Construction Co. Foundation Grant program, which has been going strong for over 20 years.

Bit of Hope Ranch, Inc. 

Region: Charlotte 

Messer Sponsor: Senior IT Support Services Technician Tim Pfieffer

Bit of Hope Ranch, Inc. is a nonprofit just outside Charlotte in Gastonia, North Carolina, that provides equine-assisted therapies and trauma recovery programs for children and families. Its mission is to “reach, rescue and restore” those who are hurting; this is done through counseling, coaching and adaptive riding services.

Grant funding will support the construction of a shaded observation deck, creating a safer and more comfortable space for participants, families and volunteers while helping the organization serve more individuals through its programs.

Notre Dame Urban Education Center 

Region: EGC  

Messer Sponsor: EGC Region Leader Tom Belanich 

The Notre Dame Urban Education Center (NDUEC) in Covington, Kentucky, provides educational programs that support children and families through early learning, academic enrichment, summer programming and family support services. Its mission is to restore hope and improve lives through transformative education opportunities.

The organization will use grant funding to install durable epoxy flooring in its basement learning space, enhancing safety, cleanliness and the long-term functionality of the area for students and families.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Indiana 

Region: Indianapolis   

Messer Sponsor: Building Systems Executive Mitchell Hayes

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Indiana is a nonprofit in Indianapolis that provides a home away from home for families with children receiving medical care. Its mission is to keep families together by offering comfort, lodging, meals and support while their children receive treatment care.

The organization plans to use the funding to support a partial kitchen remodel to enhance its capacity to provide daily meals and reduce financial hardship for families during extended medical stays.

The Alice Aycock Poe Center for Health Education 

Region: Raleigh

The Alice Aycock Poe Center for Health Education is a nonprofit in Raleigh, North Carolina, that provides health education programs for children, families and communities. Their mission is to educate and empower North Carolinians to make healthy choices and improve overall lifelong health and well-being.

The organization plans to use the grant for a critical restroom renovation project that will improve safety, accessibility, and sustainability.
