EGC Construction Continues 14-year Safety Streak
May 22, 2025

Congratulations to our colleagues at EGC Construction for surpassing five million effort hours without a lost-time injury. This means nobody has missed work due to an injury for 14 years straight. EGC continues to outperform the industry average.
These industry-leading results are an outcome of exceptional vigilance and personal commitment to safety every day, according to EGC President Tom Belanich. “This achievement represents the culmination of embracing safety excellence to the point it becomes your company culture,” he said.
“Going home safely every day is something we owe every employee and their families,” added EGC Project Executive Colin Smith. “The safety culture our craft professionals carry onsite transfers to our trade partners and sets the tone for every EGC project.”
EGC is committed to creating and maintaining a Zero Injury culture, working across the country on complex construction projects for sophisticated clients in the manufacturing, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, and health care industries. The work often entails being inside existing facilities to execute shutdowns, equipment installations and other upgrades without disrupting operations.
“This milestone demonstrates the longstanding commitment to safety that has made the alignment of safety programs and culture so smooth between Messer and EGC,” said Kyle McDonald, Messer environmental health and safety vice president. “It’s a significant achievement.”
