Description

This project involved the construction of an 11-floor concrete frame tower with 56 apartments, common areas, and two parking levels. It also included demolition of an existing one-story connector building, creating a new connector building with assembly spaces and an enclosed pedestrian bridge. Additionally, a ten-floor balcony addition was made to the existing Thurber Tower.

Features

  • Because the project was located on a main thoroughfare, an effective site logistics plan ensured safety and minimized disruptions for motorists and pedestrians.
  • Given the complexity of the aesthetic design of the building and custom finishes, Messer’s Quality Leadership System (QLS)
    was vital to the success of the project.
  • Flow scheduling was used to help enhance speed to market by completing repetitive building elements productively and efficiently.
  • Messer’s BIM coordination process was used to provide additional quality assurance during the project.
