Description

This project entailed the renovation of an existing 111,989 square foot, 14-story residence hall. The renovated facility is accommodates up to 570 students, offering single, double, triple, and quad room options. Key features include new common lounge spaces, study areas, laundry facilities, a kitchen, and a housing office suite. The renovation encompasses all aspects of the building, including the installation of new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing infrastructure (MEP), facade enhancements, interior and exterior framing, as well as updated finishes throughout.

Features

  • Siddall Hall is located in a highly-traveled section of campus. Messer’s logistics plan addressed the challenges associated with the project type and location, ensuring university safety and minimal impact on vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
  • This project features Mega Panels—prefabricated exterior wall panels—for efficiency and to preserve critical laydown area on the congested site.
  • Messer utilized Flow Scheduling to accelerate the project schedule, address quality deficiencies sooner, and improve safety with fewer subcontractors onsite.
  • The building is LEED Silver Certified.
  • Messer's Craftforce self performed $6.5 million worth of work on this project.
