Description

The Center for Predictive Medicine enabled the University of Louisville (UofL) to take a leadership role in the Ohio Valley Region in fundamental and applied research addressing growing concerns about global emergence of more virulent microbial pathogens, and relevant homeland security threats to populations in our area.

Predictive medicine is a rapidly emerging field of medicine that entails predicting disease. Researchers at this biosafety level 3 (BSL-3) lab develop vaccines to fight bioterrorism and infectious diseases such as SARS, West Nile, Tuberculosis and Monkey pox.

  • BIM-coordinated installation of specialized systems: HEPA filtration, negative air pressure, dedicated exhaust.
  • Comprehensive commissioning and third-party certification for all containment and life safety systems.
  • Supports research on emerging infectious diseases and select agents, contributing to national public health preparedness.
