Description

With an increasing demand for production, Siemen's facility needed more space to accelerate manufacturing productivity. The project included a 13,000 sf plating line expansion, a new chemical storage building, 320-space parking lot, curb cut, site grading, and dry pond retention. 

 

Features

  • Messer worked hand-in-hand with Siemens to ensure zero disruption to production during the expansion. 
  • Utilized Digital Twin, resulting in schedule benefits and a total cost avoidance of $1 million. 
  • Leveraging 3D BIM enabled improved visualization of functionality, refined PALM equipment general arrangments, elimination of granted platform, reduced extent of framing to equipment and a total cost avoidance of $80,000.
  • Implemented "Siemens First" philosophy, which resulted in a schedule acceleration of two weeks and a total cost savings of $200,000.
