Description

Union County Public Schools (UCPS) is the sixth largest public school system in North Carolina and needed a new Transportation Center to support its growth. The 56-acre project site includes a 27,087 sf high-bay vehicle maintenance center, mezzanine, two-ton bridge crane, separate steel frame storage structure and a single-story office building.

Features

  • Installed three underground fuel tanks
  • Hardscaping included heavy-duty paving and  ABC Stone for bus parking. 
  • Messer’s craftforce self-performed all concrete packages. This enabled us to drive safety, reinforce quality and save time.
  • The project team also leveraged Lean construction processes, just-in-time deliveries and in-depth communication protocols to ensure seamless subcontractor coordination.
