Description

This multi-year, multi-phase modernization project delivers operations, parking, security and infrastructure upgrades to Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport, including the first floor parking garage renovation to include a new rental car facility; removal and rework of roadways; parking space expansion; extension of network fiber "backbone"; demolition and renovation of two underground tunnels; upgraded covered sidewalks, crossing islands, lighting and surveillance equipment MEP systems; and much more.

Other project highlights include a new operations center, security system, data center, USO area, ambassador center, conference room,
food/vendor storage area, and offices for two airlines.

Features

  • Situated in the heart of a fully operational terminal, safety was top priority. The project team meticulously coordinated construction activities with the Louisville Regional Airport Authority officials to ensure the safety of staff and passengers was maintained at all times. 
  • Flexibility and adaptability were key in managing the project amid the pandemic, with areas of work scaling up or down as passenger traffic fluctuated. Phasing was coordinated to minimize the number of changes to traffic patterns for travelers.
